Ever watched people dancing Latin and thought, “I wish I could do that”?
At Te Amo Dance, you can — even if you’ve never danced before, think you’ve got two left feet, or haven’t moved to music since high school.
Our small, friendly classes make it easy to find rhythm, connection, and confidence at your own pace. You’ll learn the basics of Salsa and Bachata, the world’s most joyful and social Latin styles, guided by a passionate local instructor who makes every step simple, supportive and fun.
Best dance teacher I encountered in my entire life! Winston had said, if you have a heartbeat, you can dance, you can teach anyone to dance, which is pretty awesome!
Winston is an excellent, passionate dance teacher who instills both joy and drive into his students. His work is the reason I still attend daily dance lessons for over 5 years here at home. Any student fortunate enough to get Winston’s dance vocabulary bestowed unto them may see a new light of day.
such wonderful friendly professional teaching, highly recommend
Come solo, as a couple, or with friends — we rotate partners so everyone learns together.
Our classes are small enough for personal attention, but lively enough to keep the energy high. You’ll never feel out of place — we’ve all been beginners once.
Experience the music, meet the community, and see how quickly you can dance with confidence.
If you love it (and you will), you can continue weekly.
We’ll take care of the rhythm, the music and the fun — you just show up.
Join a class this week and start your Latin dance journey.
The secret to becoming a great Latin dancer isn’t memorising patterns — it’s learning to feel the music and connect with your partner.
Pay attention to timing, posture and balance, but don’t stress about perfection.
Relax your body, listen to the rhythm, and let the music lead your movement.
Every partner moves a little differently — and that’s how you really learn to dance.
Dancing with a variety of people teaches you how to adapt, lead or follow more naturally, and build confidence fast.
Whether it’s in class rotations or at local socials, – connection grows when you learn to move with different dancers.
Film a practice now and then, or jot down what you’ve learned each week.
You’ll be amazed at how far you’ve come — and how much fun it’s been getting there.
No partner needed! Many of our students come solo and we rotate partners so everyone learns together. Couples are welcome to stay paired if they prefer.
Absolutely. Most of our students start with zero experience and sometimes zero rhythm. We start with the basics, move at a comfortable pace and focus on helping you feel confident, not perfect.
Anything comfortable that lets you move freely. Jeans, leggings, shorts or casual trousers work great. For shoes, choose something secure that slides easily on the floor, not thongs or stilettos.
Not at all. We have dancers from their 20s to their 70s. It’s never too late or too early to start enjoying movement, music and connection.
No gym membership required. Latin dancing is gentle, social and great for fitness, but we keep it low-pressure and beginner friendly.
Our group classes run for about an hour, just long enough to learn something new and still have energy for a laugh at the end.
No problem. You can catch the same level the next week or join another class time. We’re flexible because life happens.
We’re a small boutique studio in Mullumbimby that focuses on connection, fun and genuine community, not competition. You’ll never feel like just another student here.
Yes. Our First Lesson Special for $20 lets you give it a go with no lock-in. If you love it, you can continue weekly or grab a class pack.
